Although you can’t see, smell, or taste radon when it is inside of your home or business, it can be extremely dangerous if you are exposed to it for long periods of time. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, about 21,000 Americans are killed due to radon exposure every year. Among nonsmokers, radon is the leading cause of lung cancer death, and over the years, both the EPA and the U.S. Surgeon General have encouraged Americans to have their homes and businesses tested for radon.
